Who We Are

About CLAS & Marchand Boulevard
Marchand Boulevard is a poverty-stricken, economically deprived, inner-city neighborhood. A high unemployment rate has contributed to widespread poverty and social instability. The children are the worst affected. They attend school infrequently and others not at all, thereby continuing the vicious cycle of illiteracy, poverty and crime. THIS is why CLAS came about.
CLAS aims to provide holistic support to enable literacy support and nurture individual gifts and talents. (See our programs). We believe that every child is born with God-given individual gifts and talents. We, therefore, seek to identify, nurture, and guide each child’s particular strength. We are pioneering this bold new initiative for transforming their lives and improving their neighborhood…
CLAS received Non-profit status in 2011 and is being run by an executive committee and a broad team of Community Volunteers.
